Nadis

Nadis
Resort 23, ‘Nadis’ was born from my absolute love for a beautiful boutique hotel at the foothills of the Harwan hills in Srinagar, in the former princely state of Kashmir in India on my first trip last August, in the middle of the pandemic. I’ve always wanted to visit Kashmir and it had long been on my list. A jewel, Nadis was built during the pandemic by a creative, Yaser whose family has been in the luxury shawl trade for generations.
A thoughtfully planted rose garden, planted by Yaser himself amidst flora collected on his travels gave birth to a small garden bursting with colour. I must draw the roses I said, and so, Nadis was born. The beautiful Kashmiri rose at the centre of the collection finds its way into the Dachigam National park where we discovered Leopards, acorns, mulberries and the Kashmiri Kingfisher on foot, running into the most hidden away Harwan Buddhist monastery circa 150 AD almost 2000 years ago. The famous Pari Mahal or Palace of Fairies circa 1650 AD built by Mughal ruler Dara Shikoh, famed for its flower garden finds its way into our dresses. This collection is an ode to the color, sights, sounds and smells around this beautiful cozy property in Srinagar employing local craftsman and talent to build the hotel, completely circular in its design philosophy and the one that took me on the most personal journey to experience beauty in nature through their eyes.
