Our family home ‘Asian Court’ lies in the heart of South Bombay, an almost 150 year old bungalow and one of the last free standing homes amidst the modern buildings of concrete that surrounds the city. My love for décor, architechture and nature is apparent in this collection bringing together a melange of painted print which comes to life with the flowers blooming in my mother’s garden, vintage Mosaic on our floor, art, architectural motifs and doorways and the abudance of nature surrounding the house. A few years ago, our walls were broken to make way for bigger public roads and trees were cut much to the dispair of the residents and I wanted to pay a tribute to our own vintage marvel. Built in the era of the British Colonial Raj, the house was bought over from Lady Laxmibai Jagmohandas by my paternal grandfather P.U. Patel for the Asian Assurance company and christened ‘Asian Court’ which has since stayed close to our heart.

A house with a soul. this collection is an ode to all things vintage, through the details of our prints and play on color. With a fresh take on Resort, relaxed glamour and easy pieces with delicate hand beading and smocked detail bring to life our ultimate travel wardobe of the season.

PHILOSOPHY

DESIGNED
TO WEAR
ON HOLIDAY
EVEN WHEN
YOU ARE NOT.

Verandah was created by Anjali Patel Mehta, a keen traveller, golfer, art, fashion and beach lover and an active mother of two. Having lived between Mumbai and New York, the label was born from a need to find boho-luxe, chic, fuss-free, travel separates that go easily from day to night, using ultra soft and artisanal fabrics and hand work from India. Body shapes and cultural context play a key role in the label’s design philosophy, where each piece is created with a hint of understated luxury and styles that are inspired to celebrate the bohemian woman.

Verandah’s go to fabrics include luxe silks, cotton and denim. Signature tassels, pleats, delicate hand beading, surface texturing on print motifs and fabric mark each collection. Dresses, kaftans, and easy separates that go from beach to city are staples of each season with a palette that is inspired by art, travel and easy living.

The label makes a conscious effort to support post consumer zero waste, and sustainability. Emerging from India, a country that prides itself in handmade, we adhere to the highest standard of care, quality and fair trade.

From Mumbai to Mykonos, Goa to Ibiza, Verandah packs in effortless boho luxe separates for an eternal holiday.
